Ever thought about owning your own chocolate factory? Patricia Farrell followed her dream to create her very own unique, “non – touristy” Irish chocolate. Based in Tuamgraney in Co. Clare, Patricia Farrell along with the help of her husband founded the business in 1997.
The name and inspiration comes from, you guessed it, Irish poet Oscar Wilde. Patricia uses his quote “I can resist anything except temptation” as motivation to create new irresistible flavours year in year out.
Some of these include Seaweed & Lime Splash, Hazlenut Duet, Mint Crunch and Irish Cream Liquer. If Patricia can dream it, she can make it!
Wilde Irish Chocolates has a range of over 80 different types of chocolate bars, slices, gift selections spreads and hot chocolate swirl sticks. If that wasn’t enough, you can book a behind the scenes tour of the chocolate factory and there is the option to take part in a “build your own bar” experience. To top that all off there is also a hot chocolate café that serves eight different types of hot chocolate along with coffees and teas.
Patricia believes the secret to chocolate success is mixing great people, wonderful ingredients, a dash of daringness and a dollop of laughter in a special place.
This certainly comes through in the amazing chocolate bars that she invents.
